Professional Overview:
Ramin Hariri is a Paris-based lawyer with over 24 years of experience advising governments,
international companies, and financial institutions on complex projects in the mining,
oil & gas, and energy sectors across Africa and the Middle East.
He has developed a strong expertise in the legal structuring of extractive industry transactions,
including mining conventions, petroleum and gas codes, production sharing agreements, joint
ventures, public-private partnerships, and infrastructure financing. His practice also covers
regulatory compliance, tax structuring, corporate governance, and local content requirements.
Ramin has worked on over 100 projects involving upstream, midstream, and downstream
activities as well as mining product trading and project development.
He is frequently involved in high-stakes negotiations and legal reform processes, notably in
countries such as the Republic of Congo, Guinea, Madagascar, Mauritania, and Gabon.
His comprehensive and cross-disciplinary approach integrates civil law, OHADA law, public
international law, and commercial contracting best practices.
Before founding RHR LAW in 2021, a boutique law firm dedicated to energy, Ramin was
a partner at KPMG Fidal (1998–2013) and later at Dentons (2013–2020), where he led
the energy and natural resources practice at the Paris office.
